PROVIDENCE SPEECH AND HEARING CENTER RECEIVES $27,600 GRANT
Gift from The Lloyd E. and Elizabeth H. Klein Family Foundation will benefit the Children’s Low Income Subsidy Program at the nonprofit organization.
ORANGE, Calif. – January 11, 2010 – Providence Speech and Hearing Center has been awarded a $27,600 grant from The Lloyd E. and Elizabeth H. Klein Family Foundation for the Children’s Low Income Subsidy Program.
“This $27,600 grant for The Lloyd E. and Elizabeth H. Klein Family Foundation is a tremendous boost for our Children’s Low Income Subsidy Program, and will help many disadvantaged kids whose parents or caregivers cannot afford to fully pay for services,” said Providence Speech and Hearing Center Chief Executive Officer Linda H. Smith, RN, BSN, PHN.
The gift comes at an excellent time as the nonprofit organization concludes an otherwise difficult year, with a higher need for services all around, and less funding from most sources.
The services provided to these children include evaluations and therapy for various speech and hearing disorders, as well as assistive communication devices. More than speech therapy and a hearing aid, the services offer a significant improvement in their quality of life with the ability to communicate more clearly and with renewed confidence.
In July 2009, Providence Speech and Hearing Center began a year-long, comprehensive, speech and language initiative supported by the Children & Families Commission of Orange County in an effort to improve speech and language services for children between 0-5 in Orange County.
Those interested in donating should mail checks to Providence Speech and Hearing Center, 1301 Providence Ave., Orange, CA, 92868, or call (714) 639-4990, or contribute online at www.pshc.org.
